Introducing the 3rd edition of Aquatic Fitness Everyone, The new “workbook” format features key terms and objectives at the beginning of each Chapter, study questions at the end of the Chapter and lab experiences in pertinent Chapters that help teach exercise concepts.
It also contains an updated, research based introductory Chapter that sets the stage for the learning experience. Chapter 4 on Developing Cardiorespiratory Fitness includes the most currently accepted ACSM guidelines and expanded lab experiences support learning of such concepts as target heart rate and perception of exertion.
The Chapters covering exercise biomechanics and the basic aqua calisthenics have been combined to support the process of learning joint motion and muscular action as they relate to each specific aqua calisthenics movement. In addition, a new Chapter has been added for instructors and program managers. It discusses safe effective exercise leadership techniques, provides an overview of program safety and risk management issues and guides the program manager with information on quality aquatic fitness programming.
